About Melody Rose
Melody Rose is an artist, educator, and lifelong learner who believes in the transformative power of creativity. While teaching K–12 students in Los Angeles and San Francisco, she witnessed how art and expression could unlock confidence, curiosity, and joy. Though she has always loved making things, it was in the classroom—especially while teaching science, one of her deepest passions—that her love for the creative process deepened.
Melody has shared her work at the Disquiet International Literary Program (2022) and the NYC Poetry Festival (2023, 2024 & 2025). Beyond the page, her creative life has taken many forms: she’s led arts and crafts sessions in a children’s hospital, taught English to survivors of human trafficking, and even brought coding into San Quentin State.
At the heart of all her work is a desire to spark curiosity and help others feel empowered to create—whether through painting, writing, nature journaling, web design, or whatever medium helps them come alive.
Melody has a favorite tree, bird, dinosaur, mineral, mammal, star cluster, and cloud type—and she’s always excited to talk about science, wonder, and what lights you up too.
P.S. Know a curious kiddo? Since March 2020, I’ve been offering free science classes for young learners on everything from dinosaurs and planets to albatrosses. Many sessions include a nature journaling component. We're still going strong as of July 2025! Learn more here: https://remote-ed.webflow.io/.
